These are generous-sized end tables, shown in curly maple (full board top), walnut, and cherry with off-set-turned legs.  The inspiration and proportions come from several good pieces in the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts.  This museum is very generous in allowing personal study of furniture in their collection.
